Hi! I’m a 25-year-old artist based in Virginia. My work consists of bold brush-and-ink freehand illustrations touching on themes of loss, grief, spirituality and faith,I enjoy contrasting these sensitive themes with humorous, childlike imagery while still maintaining their impact.
When I’m not working on my illustrations, I am playing drums and making music in my band, Flowers for the Dead; a different medium, but still approached with the same feel of controlled chaos. Drumming is just as near and dear to me as illustrating, the instrument has always felt like my second voice and often helps me touch on an emotion that I feel, but cannot release through words or draw out in a picture.
I’m driven by love, instinct and curiosity. Always observant of the environment around me, collecting bits and pieces to weave them together into something new and personal to myself. Whether I’m freehanding a bold ink illustration, or controlling rhythm and tension into a grand explosion, I hope that what I create resonates with you as deeply as it does with me.
